Walkup Pro on Android
There is no Play Store listing. There is something better than one: the full Walkup Pro web app, running in Chrome on any Android phone or tablet, installed to your home screen like an app. Roster, walkup songs, a stadium announcer, one-tap game day. Free while it is in beta.
Sign in with Google or a one-time email code. No card, nothing to cancel.
Install it in three taps
Chrome installs web apps the way the Play Store installs apps: an icon on the home screen, its own window, no address bar.
- 1
Open the web app in Chrome
Go to app.walkuppro.com on your Android phone or tablet and sign in with Google, or with a one-time code by email. No card, no download.
- 2
Tap Install
Walkup Pro offers an Install button once Chrome sees it is ready. If you missed it, open the Chrome menu (the three dots) and tap “Add to Home screen”, then “Install”. Samsung Internet: menu, “Add page to”, “Home screen”.
- 3
Run game day from the icon
It opens full screen from your home screen, with no address bar, like any other app. Your teams, songs and announcements are all there, and they stay in sync with any coach on iPhone.
The whole booth, in a browser
-
Rosters and batting order
Add players, drag the order, switch a kid out on a sick day.
-
A walkup song for every player
Search millions of songs, trim the exact twenty seconds, or use the one their favorite MLB player walks up to.
-
A stadium announcer
Type the intro, pick a voice, and it reads every name like a ballpark PA. Phonetic spellings keep names right.
-
Game day
Warmup tone, announcement, song at the drop point, music under the batter. One tap per at-bat.
-
The team fills itself in
Send one link. Families claim their player and pick the song from their own phone, iPhone or Android.
-
Same account as the iPhone app
A coach on iPhone and an assistant on Android see one team, live.
What a browser cannot do yet
- ·Keep Chrome in front during the game. The web app asks the phone to keep the screen on, but a browser cannot play from a locked screen the way the iPhone app can.
- ·It needs a signal. The iPhone app downloads every song for a field with no coverage; the browser streams.
- ·Songs play as 30-second previews from iTunes unless you subscribe to Apple Music, or bring your own MP3s.
Somebody on the team with an iPhone? The iPhone app does all three, and it shares the team with you.
Free on Android right now, with nothing capped.
Walkup Pro for Web is in beta, so it does not ask for a card. The beta ends soon. When it does, the web will match the iPhone app: three players free, then Pro at $7.99 a month or $39.99 a year, one subscription for both. Your teams and songs stay exactly where they are.
