What is Trevor McDonald's walk-up song?

Trevor McDonald's walk-up song is "Dinosaur" by Hank Williams, Jr., last confirmed in 2026 with the San Francisco Giants. Hear the 30-second preview below before picking it for your own team. McDonald plays pitcher and wears #72. As a pitcher, McDonald's song plays as he takes the mound — his entrance music and walk-up song are one and the same. Confirmed on the official MLB walk-up music page (2026-10-15).

San Francisco walkup music is shaped by Oracle Park's unique acoustics — the open Bay-side ballpark loses bass faster than indoor stadiums, so songs with cleaner mixes carry better. For more on the Giants' walkup tradition and other current roster picks, see the San Francisco Giants walkup page.

How "Dinosaur" compares across MLB

"Dinosaur" is a 1980 Outlaw Country track running 3:20, from Habits Old and New. McDonald is the only player in MLB we currently have walking up to it.

• Anthony Molina — Pitcher · "Idilio"
• Bryce Eldridge — Designated Hitter · "By Your Grace"
• Camilo Doval — Pitcher · "El Hijo Desobediente"
• Christian Koss — Shortstop · "Twerkulator"
• Drew Gilbert — Center Fielder · "Dead Fresh"

Use Trevor McDonald's walkup style for your team

Whether you coach Little League, travel ball, high school, or college baseball, picking a walkup song from a star like McDonald is one of the cleanest ways to give a kid confidence at the plate. The trick: most MLB walkups need a careful trim point — the 15-second window is rarely the song's first 15 seconds.

1. Build your roster in Walkup Pro
2. Search "Dinosaur" by Hank Williams, Jr. and assign it to the player who picked it
3. Set a custom trim point so only the best 15-20 seconds plays — most often the chorus or the drop, not the intro
4. Connect a Bluetooth speaker at the field and tap to play on game day
